An Aurora middle school is closed Thursday after water flooded the building, according to school district officials.
At about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aurora Public Schools officials sent out a release asking parents to not bring their children to the closed Aurora Quest K-8 campus at 17315 East 2nd Ave. because of flooding.
Any students who had already boarded buses were taken to the school and kept in a safe area of the building until parents could come pick them up, school officials said.
Information on what caused the flooding was not available Thursday morning, but the problem was limited to the single building and all other Aurora schools were operating on a normal schedule.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
