A 16-year-old boy killed in a shooting outside a Woodland Hills house party that left six others wounded was identified Monday.
The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on the 5900 block of Winnetka Avenue, a couple of blocks north of the 101 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said the suspect had been arguing with several people inside the house and, as security escorted him out, he fired off several shots into a crowd outside the house before fleeing.
The so-called “flyer party” was attended by as many as 300 people, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 16-year-old boy as Sah-Dell Roberts, who was found in the driveway and pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics rushed the wounded victims to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released a description of the suspect.
The event, billed as an adults-only VIP party, was organized by a company called Rage Parties. Organizers posted a statement on Instagram saying they are “absolutely devastated” by the fatal shooting.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected and their families,” according to the company statement. “No words can truly express the pain and shock we are all feeling.”
