Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda relives terrifying moment they were evacuated with their kids from the LA wildfires

ROBBIE Williams’ wife Ayda Field has revealed the frighting moment they scooped up their four children and fled the LA wildfires.

Ayda, 45, relieved the scary experience as she returned to the UK for an appearance on Loose Women following the disaster in the States.

The star told how their eldest daughter Teddy, 12, was “terrified” by the raging fires and kept urging them to leave.

Ayda also told her fellow Loose Women panellists what she packed when they were eventually forced to evacuate their Los Angeles mansion.

Looking sombre, Ayda recalled how just days before the fires destroyed thousands of homes, in stark contrast she had attended the glitzy Golden Globes Awards in a “lovely dress” with Robbie.

The first she realised something was wrong was when a friend in nearby Malibu received an Amber Alert for high winds that posed a “threat to life”.

“I’d never heard of that in LA,” Ayda admitted. “But when I was 14, I had lost my house in the LA earthquakes.

“So when I hear anything like that, I’m automatically a bit triggered and go on alert.”

Before she knew it, both she and former Take That star Robbie also began receiving “very loud” Amber Alerts about a fire risk too.

Ayda said: “It was terrifying because all of a sudden, you could feel the winds and hear the winds and you knew that fire was ripping through the city.

“It was hazy and black and it was all very quick and all in real time.

“It was very surreal. Our phones kept going off with amber alerts. They are very loud and very strong.

“It was kind of chaos because you didn’t know if your area was close and there were some alerts that were sent wrong.”

She added: “The children knew something happening, as the air quality was really bad.

“You couldn’t go out and the kids couldn’t play in garden.”

Ayda said their youngest children, Coco, six, and four-year-old Beau, were easily distracted by watching the cartoon Bluey.

However, their eldest child Teddy was panic-stricken.

“I was very stressed out and so was Rob,” Ayda recalled. “Teddy was terrified and just kept saying, ‘We’ve got to go!’

“There was no escaping what was happening. Teddy was just so aware. We had it on the news, it was running on a loop.”

When the family were told they had to get out, quick-thinking Ayda knew instantly what to grab.

“I packed some photos I had and passports,” Ayda said.

“That was it. The things you have are mostly not important, it’s the animals and family. I’m grateful to be here.”
