No Yashasvi Jaiswal, Gill to open as Piyush Chawala selected India Playing XI for Champions Trophy

    Piyush Chawla at the One World One Family Cup 2025, has selected his Plying XI for Team India. He has selected Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as the two openers of the team. This means the aggressive southpaw, Yashasvi Jaiswal has to make way from the team.

    Chawala has put Virat Kohli at three, while the number 4 spot will be occupied by Shreyas Iyer. At number 5, Chawala has selected KL Rahul over Rishabh Pant as the keeper in the team. At the lower middle order, the former spinner has put 3 all-rounders.

    Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja comprise the lower order. The Trio are equally versed in batting and bowling and can finish innings for the country. This also means India will have 3 spinners in their mixes. Kuldeep Yadav gets added to the team as the specialist spinner.

    As for the pace unit, India again has 3 pacers. He has kept Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah in the team. But there is a condition, Chawala has claimed that Bumrah should only be in the team if he is fit to play. Currently, Bumrah is at the NCA recovering from his back stress injury.
