TERRY BRADSHAW has announced his plans to retire from Fox NFL Sunday.
The 76-year-old icon has had to deal with a number of health issues in recent years.
There have been concerns from viewers this season, sending their support to the veteran broadcaster.
He has been a mainstay on the network for years, and a household name around the country.
Bradshaw is working down in New Orleans for Fox ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl showdown at the Caesars Superdome.
That will see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
He will appear alongside Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson, Rob Gronkowski and Co this weekend.
And the Pittsburgh Steelers legend has now revealed his plans to hang up his microphone.
He told reporters in a media scrum he was targeting the 2029 Super Bowl to pack it in.
Bradshaw has two more years left on his contract with Fox.
The former quarterback would be nearing 80 at the time, and ready to settle down.
“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I’m sitting there, I said, ‘I’ve got two years left at FOX. I’m 76’, he said.
“Okay, so it’s a young man’s game.
“I get that.’ Everybody wants the new.
“And so I said, ‘If we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. That’s, I think that’s time’.
“80 years old, that’s pushing it.”
Bradshaw was honoured down in New Orleans this week as a Louisiana native.
He was given his own state day for his work in the NFL, broadcasting and with the community.
His time on screen goes back to 1980 with a two year spell at CBS as a commentator.
The QB icon’s big break came in 1994 when he joined Fox, and has been there ever since.
Bradshaw has come under pressure to retire in recent years, but always fought back on any criticism .
“I told Fox: ‘If I could just die on the show, think about the ratings, right?,” he joked.
“Are we not about ratings? That’d be huge. Not only that, there would be a huge carryover.”
