In February 2025, his wife, Sharon Osbourne, gave an update about the singer's illness after it was announced that Ozzy would play his final show with Black Sabbath.

“He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this," Sharon told The Sun. “Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It’s not something you can stabilize. It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.

Ozzy lives with Parkinson's disease, and has had numerous surgeries over the years.
In 2023, he underwent a fourth spinal surgery to fix the damage caused by a fall four years earlier, which dislodged the metal rods that were put into his body after an accident in 2003.

“It's really knocked me about,” he told Rolling Stone UK at the time. “The second surgery went drastically wrong and virtually left me crippled. I thought I’d be up and running after the second and third, but with the last one they put a f--king rod in my spine. They found a tumor in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig all that out too. It’s pretty rough, man, and my balance is all f--ked up.”

Ozzy shared his Parkinson's disease diagnosis during an appearance on Good Morning America in January 2020.
"It's not a death sentence but it affects certain nerves in your body," Sharon added. "You have a good day, a good day, then a really bad day."
She continued, "He’s gone through all these operations and the whole thing has felt like a nightmare. He hasn’t lost his sense of humor, but I look at my husband, and he’s here while everyone else is out on the road. This is the longest time he hasn’t ever worked for. Being at home for so long has been so foreign to him."

Black Sabbath's final show will be on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, U.K., with the likes of Metallica, Pantera, Slayer and more.
"Ozzy didn't have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there's been no full stop," Sharon told BBC in February 2025. "This is his full stop."

He added, “I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it."
While speaking to Rolling Stone UK in November 2023, the "Crazy Train" singer told the outlet that "at best, I've got ten years left."
He added: "When you’re older, time picks up speed. Me and Sharon had our 41st wedding anniversary recently, and that’s just unbelievable to me!”
