After a tense conversation about having to share Grant’s attention, as Parade previously previewed, the women learned from host Jesse Palmer that Grant would not only be going on a one-on-one date with Alexe (who won that honor along with her first impression premiere rose) but two group dates.

The first group date would happen immediately, with ten ladies: Beverly, Sarafiena, Alli Jo, Natalie, Parisa, Vicky, Chloie, Zoe, Juliana and Allyshia. The gals would be competing in a basketball game to show the handsome day trader their competitive fire and love of children with kids coaching and cheering. Zoe angered the others by stealing Grant away from the court to chat on a rooftop.

The five-on-five basketball competition, announced by Jesse and ESPN’s Ashley Brewer, saw the taller purple team winning 18-2 as the yellow team flopped.  Plus-sized model Chloie was named game MVP and was awarded a Grant basketball jacket and private time with him in which he praised her “radiance.” However, fur flew as Alli Jo slammed Zoe for stealing Grant earlier.

“You’re so bubbly, and I like that,” Grant gushed to Juliana, before they were interrupted by Zoe. Juliana told the other women about having her time stolen and they were all outraged about Zoe again—but Grant liked her “spark.” Alli Jo decided to cut in on Zoe’s time and started talking to Grant, but Zoe came back to re-claim him again, which sent Alli Jo into a tirade. Natalie, who’d impressed Grant by nurturing a little girl at the basketball game, received his first group date rose.

What happened on Grant’s first one-on-one date tonight?

The hunk met Alexe at the empty Beverly Center Mall in Los Angeles. They cuddled and kissed on a bed at a furniture shop. Grant played piano and sang an impromptu song for Alexe, warbling that “it takes two to make it.”

She was smitten, telling cameras, “He’s a very romantic man…that’s what I’ve been looking for.” Alexe told Grant she’d been raised by her grandparents and was estranged from her mom. Loving their chemistry, Grant gave her the one-on-one date rose.

The remaining women met at a club where R&B star Mario performed and told them they would write their own songs for Grant! Bailey did the splits during her rap. Litia sat on his lap during her rhyming song, and Carolina partly performed in Spanish and straddled Grant.

Grant picked Carolina as the show winner, but the second group date rose was still up for grabs. Litia spent some private time with him, crying about her previous on-and-off relationship in which she learned her beau didn’t want marriage. “I’m sick of dating,” she tearfully told Grant, who said he was, too! He disappointed Carolina by giving the group date rose to Litia.

Grant heard Litia's tale of woe.

Bailey had a meltdown and shed tears in front of Grant, telling him it was hard for her to open up.

As a former basketball player, you can imagine that Grant Ellis has quite the height to him. And, according to the site for his college basketball team, Grant stands at a staggering 6'5"!

What does the Bachelor do for a living?

Grant originally was a professional basketball player, playing primarily overseas in the Dominican Republic. However, he suffered an extreme energy, ending his four-year professional career. Grant then pivoted to working as a day trader.

"S&P 500 ... that's the only instrument I trade. I studied and went all in," he said on an August 2024 episode of The Viall Files. "The first three years, I lost everything that I had in the market, but I stuck at it,” he continued. "It's a process that tests who you are. It tests your resilience and your ability to weather the storm."
