At least according to Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
When asked why they call it the tush push, Hurts made it clear that he does not call it that.
“I don’t call it that,” Hurts said at the Super Bowl opening night media extravaganza.
“You call it that. I call it the quarterback sneak.
“I keep it very standard.”
Call it what you want, but there’s no denying how effective it’s been for Philadelphia.
Coming off a three rushing touchdown performance in the NFC championship against the Washington Commanders, Hurts broke the record for most rushing touchdowns in postseason history by a quarterback.
The record now belongs to him, with nine.
Hurts will face his toughest test in Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs, as they have showed the capability of stopping the short-yardage play.
In the AFC championship, the Chiefs stopped Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen a handful of times when Buffalo tried its own variation of the tush push.
