Arizona and UConn finalizing home-and-home men’s basketball series

The Arizona Wildcats men’s basketball team is reportedly finalizing an agreement with the UConn Huskies for a home-and-home series beginning in the 2025-26 season, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Rothstein adds the Huskies will host the first of the two games next season before the series moves to McKale Center for the 2026-27 season.

The dates for the two games are not yet known.

The Wildcats (15-6) are currently ranked No. 20 in The Associated Press’ top 25 men’s basketball rankings days after taking down ASU, 81-72, on Saturday.

For his play against both the Sun Devils and Iowa State, who Arizona beat last Monday, guard Caleb Love was named Big 12 Player of the Week.

The Huskies (16-6) meanwhile find themselves just one spot higher than the Wildcats in the ranking coming off a 77-69 win over Marquette. The Huskies moved up six spots in this week’s poll.

When did Arizona last face the Huskies?

The last time the Wildcats took on the Huskies was during the 2018-19 regular season. Arizona took that one, 76-72.

In seven games between the two programs, the Wildcats are 2-5 against the Huskies. One of those losses includes a Final Four loss to the Huskies in 2011.
