NewFields’ Canadian engineering team, which was previously one component of a global consulting engineering firm, is now operating as NewFields Canada, headquartered in Saskatoon, under new ownership.
Intended to provide an alternative to large engineering firms in the mining industry, NewFields Canada will offer mine planning, design, construction, operations, closure and reclamation services. With the structural transition, all of the engineering team’s nearly 30 technical experts and support staff have remained with the organization. They have more than 35 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, water resource development, decommissioning and sustainable project development.
The new ownership team includes founding partners Leon Botham, Erin Moss Tressel and Tyrel Lloyd and associate Justin Desjardins. Botham, a geotechnical engineer, will also lead NewFields Canada as president.
“Thanks to the support of our clients, colleagues and families, the leadership team is excited to launch an independent company,” says Botham. “I am honoured to be a founding partner and the first president.”
