Legoland Parks has announced that it will be making cuts to its theme park staff nationwide, including in Carlsbad.
The theme park confirmed the layoffs via an emailed statement, saying that the layoffs are due to operational changes and that the affected positions would be a mixture of seasonal and permanent employees.
“LEGOLAND Resorts in North America are making operational changes to help us elevate the guest experience in 2025 and beyond. This includes changes in how we deliver entertainment,” the statement said.
“This will include working with a global leader in this sector — who will be providing employment opportunities — to bolster our entertainment provision during seasonal special events.
“We will continue to have a core in-house entertainment offering, which we will scale up to meet our brand and guest experiences during the year.”
The statement added that the company would do its best to help affected employees find alternative employment.
The statement did not include the number of employees slated to lose their jobs. Meanwhile, about 234 Legoland employees are to be laid off from the Florida location, mostly performers.
