2025 NFL Mock Draft: Browns Take Abdul Carter, Giants Get Shedeur Sanders

The Super Bowl is just two weeks away and that means 30 teams are focused on the NFL Draft with their first-round slots locked in. Let’s take a look at another 2025 NFL Mock Draft with just one game remaining in the NFL season.

2025 NFL Mock Draft

The Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills saw their seasons end on Sunday which means they are at number 29 and 30 in the first round. Who could they target? Let’s take a look.

    1. Titans – Cam Ward (QB, Miami FL)

We will be debating this until draft day. Will the Titans keep the top pick? If they don’t get a trade offer they like (likely from the Raiders) they will most likely be getting a quarterback. Cam Ward showed he has a solid arm as well as touch to make every throw.

    2. Browns – Abdul Carter (Edge, Penn State)

(Abdul Carter teaming up with Myles Garrett would be dangerous. Photo: Matthew O’Haren-Imagn Images)

The Browns have quarterback issues of their own but could decide on a gap year by adding someone in free agency. Abdul Carter is one of the best players in the draft and adding him to a defense with Myles Garrett looks scary for the future. The Browns get him at No. 2 so they can get after other teams’ quarterbacks for years to come.

    3. Giants – Shedeur Sanders (QB, Colorado)

Scouts have been back and forth about what quarterback will go number one but it seems like the edge goes to Cam Ward for now. Shedeur Sanders has shown a quick release and spun the ball well at Colorado in the last two years. The Giants take him at No. 3 and start to build toward the future after a rough Daniel Jones era.

    4. Patriots – Josh Simmons (OT, Ohio State)

The Patriots need to build a strong offensive line around young quarterback Drake Maye so they could go with Josh Simmons here. He is coming off an injury but he is looking like an elite pass blocker on tape and would be a nice fit. While the Patriots will give Travis Hunter a look, they need help on the offensive line more.

    5. Jaguars – Will Johnson (CB, Michigan)

The Jaguars need a boost in their secondary as several players are hitting contract years in 2025. Will Johnson is an elite corner with the ability to shut down top wideouts. While he was hurt most of the 2024 season, we saw what he could do in 2023 when he helped Michigan win a national title. He’s long (6’2″) and has the athletic ability to match up with anyone. The Jags need help at receiver and interior offensive line too, but it might be too early at no. 5 to pull the trigger.

    6. Raiders – Travis Hunter (CB/WR, Colorado)

If the Raiders don’t find a way to trade up, they will be looking for another option in free agency at quarterback with first-round talents like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders off the board. Luckily, the most talented player in the draft could fall in their lap. Travis Hunter is elite on both sides of the ball and can be used in a lot of ways to help Las Vegas.

    7. Jets – Mason Graham (DT, Michigan)

The Jets need a quarterback but the best options will be gone by no. 7. This means they address gaps on their defensive line by adding a monster like Mason Graham. He can stuff the run and is good as a pass rusher too. He will give the unit a massive boost right from the get-go.

    8. Panthers – Mykel Williams (Edge, Georgia)

(Williams would be a good boost for the Panthers pass rush. Photo: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports)

The Panthers should boost their defensive line in round one and that could be off the edge or on the interior. Since Mason Graham is off the board, the Panthers go with a great edge rusher in Mykel Williams from Georgia. He easily slips off blocks and would be an instant upgrade in Carolina.

    9. Saints – Nic Scourton (Edge, Texas A&M)

The Saints struggled on both sides of the ball and ended up 5-12 with quarterback Derek Carr missing much of the season. The defense could use a boost when it comes to getting after the quarterback and the edge rusher class is strong for 2025. Nic Scourton can get to the quarterback in a lot of different ways. He has the size and strength to set the edge as New Orleans looks to boost their front seven.

    10. Bears – Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT, Texas)

Building a better future in Chicago starts with the offensive line. Kelvin Banks Jr. is an upgrade at tackle and should give young quarterback Caleb Williams an anchor. The Bears will be looking to protect Williams by adding players in the draft and free agency.

    11. 49ers – Walter Nolen (DT, Ole Miss)

The 49ers need to add depth to the defensive line to team up with Nick Bosa to return to being one of the better teams in the league up front. They could easily go edge rusher here but they also need help on the inside and Walter Nolen gets into the backfield easily and can fight off double teams.

    12. Cowboys – Ashton Jeanty (RB, Boise State)

The Cowboys need a running back as their run game in 2024 was awful. Ashton Jeanty is a top-5 talent in the draft and showed just how dominant he can be with 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns at Boise State in 2024. He is probably too good for the Cowboys to pass up.

    13. Dolphins – Malaki Starks (S, Georgia)

The Dolphins will need to add depth everywhere in their secondary and they could add the best safety in the draft in Malaki Starks here. Starks has played all over the field at Georgia and is an extremely versatile player with a great football IQ. He has the tools to be an immediate impact player for Miami.

    14. Colts – Tyler Warren (TE, Penn State)

The Colts need help on the interior offensive line but No. 14 might be too early for that. Adding a weapon on offense like Tyler Warren would go a long way for Anthony Richardson’s development. Warren is a great route runner who has good instincts which help him settle into open windows for his quarterback.

    15. Falcons – James Pearce Jr. (Edge, Tennessee)

The Falcons were sixth worst in the NFL in pass rush win rate. They also haven’t had a double-digit sack defender since 2016. James Pearce Jr. is a top-10 talent who showed flashes of dominance while at Tennessee.

    16. Cardinals – Jalon Walker (Edge, Georgia)

The Cardinals need help up front on defensive and that could come off the edge or on the interior. Jalon Walker is a top-15 talent and will be an immediate upgrade for the defensive unit in Arizona. If Walter Nolen is available here, Arizona might pull the trigger to boost their interior defensive line.

    17. Bengals – Colston Loveland (TE, Michigan)

The Bengals need help on defense but Joe Burrow could use another option in the passing game as well. They could add a tight end or receiver at No. 17 before addressing issues in the secondary in the following rounds. Colston Loveland is a smooth route runner with great body control.

    18. Seahawks – Tyler Booker (OG, Alabama)

The Seahawks biggest question mark heading into 2025 is the offensive line. Recent draft picks have not performed well as Geno Smith has been beaten up over the last two seasons. Tyler Booker from Alabama adds a nice piece to the interior offensive line in Seattle.

    19. Buccaneers – Tetairoa McMillan (WR, Arizona)

The Bucs need help at linebacker but Baker Mayfield is looking at a wide receiver group in 2025 that might be lacking a number one target for years to come. Tetairoa McMillan is the best wideout in the draft and he is a huge target (6’5″) with a wide catch radius.

    20. Broncos – Tre Harris (WR, Ole Miss)

The Broncos would love to get a tight end at No. 20 to boost the offense for Bo Nix but they are out of luck. They pivot to get a wide receiver and add Tre Harris from Ole Miss. He is a big target who can settle into zone pockets well which will be helpful in year two for Bo Nix.

    21. Steelers – Benjamin Morrison (CB, Notre Dame)

Pittsburgh needs a quarterback but there isn’t anyone talented enough for them to take at No. 21. Besides that, the Steelers need to find another option in the secondary to team up with Joey Porter Jr. Benjamin Morrison is a tough and physical press corner who flashes good timing while being a solid tackler.

    22. Chargers – Tyleik Williams (DT, Ohio State)

The Chargers need help on defense including off the edge, defensive tackle, and in the secondary at safety. If a player like Jalon Walker or James Pearce Jr. slides in the draft, they would likely take them. If not, they can go on the interior with Tyleik Williams who is a big interior run stuffer with active hands.

    23. Packers – Shavon Revel Jr. (CB, ECU)

Cornerback is high on the Packers’ list of needs as we saw Jaire Alexander deal with injuries this year and Eric Stokes is headed for free agency. While Shavon Revel Jr. is coming off an ACL injury, his tape is excellent showing great athleticism and length which helps him match up with just about anyone.

    24. Vikings – Jahdae Barron (CB, Texas)

The Vikings would love to add a cornerback here as their secondary will take a hit during free agency. Jahdae Barron is the best available cornerback here and he can cover in the slot as well as on the outside which would be a huge boost for the Vikings.

    25. Texans – Emeka Egbuka (WR, Ohio State)

The Texans see players like Stefon Diggs and Robert Woods heading for free agency which means they could be looking to find a versatile wide receiver. Emeka Egbuka is great at exploiting soft spots in zone coverage. He would be a nice fit to give CJ Stroud another weapon and a former teammate.

    26. Rams – Will Campbell (OT, LSU)

Tackles Alaric Jackson and Joe Noteboom are headed for free agency and the Rams might not be able to re-sign both players. They absolutely need to add depth on the offensive line. They will scoop up the best available tackle here which is Will Campbell from LSU.

    27. Ravens – Josh Conerly Jr. (OT, Oregon)

The Ravens see Ronnie Stanley due to hit the open market this spring along with left guard Patrick Mekari. They could address the offensive line in round one with Josh Conerly Jr. out of Oregon.

    28. Lions – Jared Ivey (Edge, Ole Miss)

We saw the Lions struggle against the Bills in the regular season and the Commanders in the playoffs without a solid pass rush. They need to add a solid edge rusher to team up with Aidan Hutchinson to boost their chances of getting to the Super Bowl. Detroit takes the best available player off the edge here which is Jared Ivey.

    29. Commanders – Cameron Williams (OT, Texas)

The Commanders need depth at edge rusher and on the offensive line heading into 2025. They could go with either but they might lean on getting more help up front to keep Jayden Daniels nice and protected.

    30. Bills – Derrick Harmon (DT, Oregon)

The Bills need a run stuffer to anchor their defensive line as free agency might not be kind in Buffalo. Derrick Harmon is a good fit as a versatile defensive lineman who is quick and strong enough to play either gap.

    31. Eagles – Shemar Turner (Edge, Texas A&M)

We could see seven edge rushers going in the first round and the Eagles will snag one of the first-round talents available to close the round. Shemar Turner would be nice to add to the mix. If he is gone, the Eagles could look at adding talent at wide receiver as well.

    32. Chiefs – Kenneth Grant (DT, Michigan)

The Chiefs have needs at cornerback, wide receiver, and on the defensive line. With four cornerbacks off the board in round one, they could address their depth up front and grab Kenneth Grant from Michigan.
