THE Houston Texans have fired offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.

He departs after two seasons at NRG Stadium.

Slowik, 37, enjoyed a productive first season in Houston.

He helped CJ Stroud to several honors, including Offensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowl appearance.

The Texans also earned a division title and home playoff win.

This season, however, has been more challenging.

Houston’s inconsistent offense was a regular talking point, with Stroud struggling to build on his stellar rookie season.

DeMeco Ryans‘ team finished the regular season with a 10-7 record, before beating the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 during Wildcard weekend.

They were eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs last week, falling 23-14 at Arrowhead Stadium.

Per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Texans have also let offensive line coach Chris Strausser go.

The front office will now look to recruit new offensive coaches to help support head coach Ryans.

Following last week’s defeat to the Chiefs, Ryans blasted the officiating.

“We knew going into this game man, it was us vs. everybody,” he said.

“When I say everybody, it’s everybody. All the whatever, everybody.

“The naysayers, the doubt, right? Everybody, we had to go against today.

“With that, knowing going into this game knowing what we were going up against, we can’t make the mistakes we made.”

Defensive end Will Anderson Jr pulled no punches with his own assessment.

“We knew it was going to be us against the refs going into this game,” he said.

The Chiefs are attempting to achieve a historic three-peat.

Andy Reid‘s team are set to host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game.

Should they triumph, the Chiefs will face either the Philadelphia Eagles or Washington Commanders in the Super Bowl.

The action is set to go down in New Orleans on February 9.
