THE NBA was forced into a late schedule change Thursday after travel chaos.
The Milwaukee Bucks ran into problems getting back from New Orleans, Louisiana.
The city was hit by a snow storm this week with icy conditions affecting travel.
And Milwaukee experienced delays in returning home for a game against the Miami Heat Thursday.
The showdown was the the first of TNT’s national TV doubleheader and due to tip off at 7.30 pm ET.
But the NBA announced just hours before the game that it would be pushed back to an 8.30 pm ET start.
And that had a knock-on effect on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Their game against the Boston Celtics was set to follow on TNT at 10 pm ET.
Instead it started at a slightly later time of 10.15 pm ET and began on TruTV.
The travel chaos didn’t affect Milwaukee on Thursday.
They dominated the Miami Heat in a 125-96 victory.
The team headed to New Orleans on Monday but their game against the Pelicans on Wednesday was canceled.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates were snowed in and couldn’t even practice with a foot of snow dumped on New Orleans.
“It felt like it was COVID all over again,” Bobby Portis said.
“We were just in the room just chilling.”
Damian Lillard scored 29 points and had 11 assists in the win Thursday night.
“We not having excuses,” he said.
