The second Designated Player in San Diego FC history was signed Wednesday when the club signed Danish winger Anders Dreyer to a three-year contract.
Dreyer, on permanent transfer from Belgium’s R.S.C Anderlecht, will occupy an International Roster Slot and will be added to the roster pending his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.
The 26-year-old spent the last two seasons in the Belgian Pro League, where he made 87 appearances and scored 31 goals and 23 assists for R.S.C. Anderlecht. Dreyer made his professional debut in April 2017 after he rose through the ranks of Denmark’s Esbjerg FB’s youth system.

Prior to joining R.S.C. Anderlecht, Dreyer made 110 appearances with FC Midtjylland over three years, accumulating 35 goals and 29 assists.
“Anders is an exciting addition to our front line who has proven he can contribute goals everywhere he’s been in his career,” said SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps in a release. “We’re excited to welcome him to SDFC as our second-ever Designated Player as we continue to build our roster for our inaugural season in MLS.”
Dreyer represented Denmark at various youth levels before he made his senior national team debut in the 2022 World Cup Qualifier in November 2021. He has also earned three senior caps for the Denmark National Team.
