TACO Bell has just added a new item to its growing menu, but fans of the fast food chain couldn’t necessarily be described as thrilled.

The restaurant, known for its Mexican-inspired favorites, such as cheesy nachos and hearty quesadillas, has come under fire over the new ”stupid” dipping burrito.

Taco Bell brought their newest cheesy treat to stores on Thursday, just a few week after releasing their take on nuggets – which also didn’t exactly go down a treat amongst foodies.

This new menu addition features your choice of steak or chicken in a small burrito covered in a melty layer of cheesy goodness.

Orders come with two burritos connected by the crunchy cheesy layer on top, creating a built-in cheese pull.

The latest fast food dish to join the Taco Bell family also comes with creamy chipotle sauce, nacho cheese sauce or sour cream for dipping.

But as melty and delicious as the burrito may sound, especially if you’re a cheese fan, it’s gone viral on social media for all the wrong reasons.

One critic begged the fast food chain to ”stop it with this stupid melting cheese on the outside thing”.

”Just bring back Volcano and Carmel empanadas permanently,” the foodie commented on Facebook.

Another fast food lover dubbed the new menu addition ”greasy and slimy”, insisting the cheesy burrito was ”not very appealing”.

”It’s just messy. Put the cheese inside the burrito,” a social media user urged Taco Bell.

”This dumb nonsense & y’all already took my caramel apple empanadas away ” a woman was furious.

However, there’s also been plenty of hype around the meaty goodness, with one chuffed the chain was offering sauces for dipping.

”I love dipping stuff, so those burritos are for me!”

”Sharing? No, no, both of those are mine,” someone else joked.

If you decide to pop down to the local Taco Bell to try out the latest burrito yourself, you can also combine it with two other new items on the menu – steak garlic nacho fries, as well as Baja Blast Dream Freeze which makes for the perfect refreshment.

The cold beverage, which is served during the happy hour from 2 to 5pm every day, comes in two flavors – classic and strawberry.

Recently in San Diego, California, the fast food giant partnered with franchisee Diversified Restaurant Group to bring the Live Mas Cafe to life this week.

Live Mas Cafe is a beverage-focused Taco Bell with several options — including Chillers, Aguas Refrescas, coffee, and more.

While it puts an emphasis on drinks, all of the traditional Taco Bell menu items are offered at the Live Mas Cafe.

Those customers who went to the grand opening on December 9 after 3:30 PM received a complimentary first beverage of their choice and free merch, per local affiliate for The CW, KTLA.

It will now remain open daily from 7 AM to 3 AM.

Taco Bell described Live Mas Cafe as “a unique experience where fans can enjoy specialty drinks” in a news release.

“This cafe’ redefines the Taco Bell experience with an innovative beverage lineup and Bellristas, providing exceptional flavor and hospitality in a cozy, inviting atmosphere, all while maintaining the great value customers love.”
