Courtney Love is opening up about her not-so-traditional love life.
The Hole frontwoman, 60, got real about romance and jealousy during the June 11 episode of Fashion Neurosis with designer Bella Freud, revealing she's got someone special in her life.
"I don't know if I'm being in denial here," Love shared, "but I have a friend, and I made friends with him when he was on the up in the art world and he's done astonishingly well and I could not be happier for him."
She continued, "I have another friend who I met on her come up and now she's bigger than I'll ever, ever be."
Despite the spotlight, Love made it clear: she's cheering both of them on.
But it was when the topic turned to romantic jealousy that the rocker gave fans a glimpse into her current relationship status.
"I'm a libertine," she admitted, "and the person that I most do my romantic crap with is also a libertine, so we are really more friends with benefits."
Keeping things a little mysterious, Love chose not to name her romantic partner, citing that there's "jealousy around that person" and she'd rather keep some things private.
Love, who shares daughter Frances Bean Cobain with late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, was famously married to the legendary rocker until his passing in 1994. She's also been linked over the years to the likes of Edward Norton and Billy Corgan.
Her romantic relationships and jealousy—despite its drawbacks—have fueled some of Love's most iconic work, including Hole's anthem "Doll Parts."
In a since-deleted Instagram post, she recalled scrawling the lyrics on her arm with Sharpie because she ran out of paper. "I had to write most of the lyrics on my arm in Sharpie as I ran out of paper," Love wrote in the 2020 post, as reported by Rolling Stone. "People were pounding on the door as I wrote it. It was played for the first time about an hour later, at the Virgin megastore in Boston. It was about a boy, whose band had just left town, who I'd been sleeping with, who I heard was sleeping with two other girls."
"It was my way of saying, 'You're a f--king idiot if you don't choose ME,'" she added. "And here is all the desire and fury and love that I feel for you."
