THE Detroit Lions-Washington Commanders matchup is expected to be the priciest NFL playoff ticket in history.
The Divisional Round matchup is now set – and the ticket price to the game at Ford Field in Detroit has only continued to soar.
Saturday’s showdown will be one of the most anticipated games of the playoff slate this weekend.
The contest will involve the No. 1 seed Lions, who won 15 games in the regular season, and Commanders, who are led by the 2024 Rookie of the Year favorite Jayden Daniels.
It was revealed by TickPick that the average purchase price for the game is $981, making it the most expensive game in the site’s history, excluding Super Bowls.
The lowest game-in price for the Detroit-Washington game is reaching close to $460 on VividSeats.
The cheapest tickets on other sites include SeatGeek, priced at $531, TickPick (588), and StubHub ($600).
The most expensive seat can be found on VividSeats, where fans can purchase a lower level 128 seat for $6,105 per ticket.
The next-most expensive ticket, which is on the 50-yard line, can be bought on StubHub.
Each of the top three expensive non-Super Bowl NFL games has all been played at the Lions’ stadium.
Saturday’s game has topped last season’s Divisional Round game between the Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($948) for the No. 1 spot.
The Lions’ Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Rams from last year ($694) is in third.
Detroit hasn’t faced the Commanders since 2022.
The Lions currently have a three-game winning streak after a 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills last month.
The Commanders have been riding a hot streak and have won their last six games, including Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Buccaneers in the wild-card round.
Daniels put together an outstanding performance in his first playoff game of his career, recording 268 passing yards and two touchdowns while running for 36 yards.
The Commanders also didn’t punt the ball once and had zero turnovers for the third time this season.
“I think there’s a level of excitement,” Campbell said Monday about game-planning versus the Commanders.
“Part of it is, you see another team you faced twice, let’s say, you know each other, you know them, they know you, it’s a different level of game planning because you’re into that third level of chess, whereas the opponent you haven’t faced yet.
“[It’s] exciting too because you don’t really, entirely know them, they don’t entirely know you, you just know each other from afar, and so, now you’re kind of starting from scratch.”
