A Ukiah woman who allegedly had drugs hidden in her clothing and a soda can was arrested recently for possessing fentanyl she intended to sell, the Ukiah Police Department reported.
According to the UPD, an officer on routine patrol on Leslie Street contacted a woman around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 3. The woman, identified as 29-year-old Selene R. Gonzalez, reportedly admitted to having drug paraphernalia in her possession.
During a subsequent “probable cause” search of Gonzalez, the officer reported finding “fentanyl, a scale, records of drug transactions, and a significant amount of cash” in her purse. More fentanyl was then found on her person, and after Gonzalez reportedly “admitted to having additional contraband hidden in her clothing, (she) removed more fentanyl, methamphetamine, ketamine, and drug packaging material from her undergarments.”
While later searching her hotel room, officers reported finding “more cash, scales, transaction records, a false compartment in a soda can, and commercial quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin,” and checked the suspect’s criminal history to find that “she had multiple prior convictions for drug possession.”
Gonzalez was then arrested and booked into Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of possession of a narcotic with the intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, possession of drugs with prior convictions and concealing drugs in a false compartment. She was held under $50,000 bail.
