Napoli are interested in signing Alejandro Garnacho this month, with Manchester United willing to part ways if a fee of between £50m and £60m can be agreed.
Marcus Rashford, The i Paper understands, is Napoli coach Antonio Conte’s top target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is set to snub Liverpool and secure a move to Paris Saint-Germain after the Georgian’s wish to leave Naples was confirmed.
Rashford, who is also a target for AC Milan, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, would be a straight loan or loan with an obligation to buy, but his high wages are proving a stumbling block for all interested parties.

The sale of an academy product represents 100 per cent profit in terms of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
And with United desperate to improve their dire PSR situation, they have reluctantly changed their stance on allowing Garnacho to leave.
There is still a scenario, even in this window, where both Garnacho and Rashford depart, if the right offers come in.
Should this be the case, United would then be in a strong position to bring in a forward as a replacement before the winter transfer window closes early next month.
Viktor Gyokeres is very much United coach Ruben Amorim’s top target, but The i Paper has been told that any move would most likely take place in the summer, when Sporting Lisbon would be willing to let the Swedish striker leave for around £60m.
In the meantime, United have joined Tottenham in pursuing out-of-favour PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani, who is almost certainly going to leave this January if Kvaratskhelia pushes the France international down the pecking order.

There is surprise in Italy that both Rashford and Garnacho are available for transfer, given they are key first-team players and proud academy graduates.
One reason why United would allow the latter to leave is because the 20-year-old winger does not particularly suit Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, to which the coach is wedded.
The Argentine has already had his run-ins with Amorim. Both he and Rashford were dropped from United’s Manchester derby squad last month over their conduct in training and general behaviour.
Sunday’s FA Cup victory at Arsenal was Garnacho’s first start in the seven games since that omission.
Atletico Madrid, where Garnacho spent five years as a youth player, have also been keeping tabs on his progress, as they look to build on their recent revival in La Liga under Diego Simeone.
United’s asking price is not understood to be off-putting.
