Warner leads 49ers’ diminished All-Pro contingent

SANTA CLARA – Linebacker Fred Warner maintained his stature as an AP first-team All-Pro while several of his 49ers teammates slipped in the annual rankings after a 6-11, last-place season.

No other 49ers player joined Warner as tight end George Kittle and fullback Kyle Juszczyk both dipped to AP second-team All-Pro.

Kittle’s 88 points fell 13 shy of Las Vegas Raiders rookie Brock Bowers, a Napa native. Juszczyk, also with 88 points, finished second to Baltimore’s Patrick Ricard.

Left tackle Trent Williams’ run of three straight AP first-team All-Pro honors ended with him garnering just one vote, having missed the final seven games due to an ankle injury. The Bucs’ Tristan Wirfs replaced him as a first-team All-Pro.

Warner, a unanimous selection last season, made the first team again as his 117 votes placed him between Philadelphia’s Zack Baun (138) and Baltimore’s Roquan Smith (71). Warner, by the way, will work on ESPN’s Sunday morning pregame show from Bristol, Conn.

In other All-Pro voting, Deommodore Lenoir received no votes as an outside cornerback but placed sixth among slot cornerbacks with five votes. Deebo Samuel drew no votes as a wide receiver but two votes were cast for his kick-return duties. Long snapper Taybor Pepper got three votes and placed 13th.

Edge rusher Nick Bosa received no votes, two years after winning AP Defensive Player of the Year and receiving his only career All-Pro honors.

Last season, the NFC Champion 49ers had All-Pro honors also bestowed on running back Christian McCaffrey (first team), wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (second team) and cornerback Charvarius Ward (second team).
