The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are headed to the National Championship.
Notre Dame defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-24 on a last-second field goal at the Orange Bowl on Thursday, securing their place in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
The Irish will take on the winner of Friday’s Cotton Bowl between the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

The CFP National Championship game is scheduled to take place on Monday, Jan. 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in Atlanta.
