Penn State just posted by far the most impressive drive of the evening at the Orange Bowl against No. 7 Notre Dame. The Nittany Lions lead Notre Dame 10-3 heading into halftime.
The drive took 15 plays and covered 90 yards – all but 4 of which came on the ground courtesy of TE Tyler Warren, QB Allar, RB Kaytron Allen and RB Nicholas Singleton. Here’s a look at the first touchdown of the game, scored by Singleton on Play No. 15 of that monster drive:

— Penn State Nittany Lions | Happy Valley Insider (@PennStateRivals) January 10, 2025Allen contributed 37 of the 90 yards while Warren contributed 25 yards – 21 rushing and 4 receiving. Those receiving yards were especially important and moved the chains on 4th and 2 near the Notre Dame 16.
And while both teams were slow out of the gate, Penn State has been able to run the football with relative ease so far Thursday night. The Nittany Lions already have 141 rushing yards compared to just 53 passing yards. Notre Dame has totaled just 27 yards on the ground so far.
Social media had plenty to say about Penn State’s vicious rushing attack. Check out some of the best reaction below:

— Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) January 10, 2025Penn State has 141 rushing yards with 2:18 left in the first half. That's more than ND gave up in its first two playoff games combined.

— Pamela Maldonado (@pamelam35) January 10, 2025Penn State absolutely running it at will right now. 136 rushing yards so far. Notre Dame gave up 62 on the ground last week to Georgia
— Penn State FB Thoughts (@PSU_FB_Thoughts) January 10, 2025Penn State run game so far, 22 carries for 126 yards. I think they are running the dang ball.

— Barstool Gambling (@stoolgambling) January 10, 2025Penn State perimeter run game and mixing in tempo looking just like it did in the Fiesta Bowl. ND has no answer for it. Just like Boise in the Fiesta Bowl.Time will tell.#CapitalOneOrangeBowl
— Louis Riddick (@LRiddickESPN) January 10, 2025Penn State has owned this game so far. Controlling the LOS and pushing Irish around. Allar has been good not great but he doesn’t have to be with that running game and TE Warren.
— Heather Dinich (@CFBHeather) January 10, 2025How about Penn State in their biggest game of the year saying WE ARE gonna be more physical than you! 15 play drIve-13 runs. 10 straight runs and most importantly 7 points. PHYSICALITY!!!!!!
— David Pollack (@davidpollack47) January 10, 2025Penn State is gonna win this game. They can run the football
— Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) January 10, 2025I say this about Notre Dame most weeks and I'll say it about Penn State now:Not sure why you wouldn't run the ball on every single play.
