With Lunar New Year just around the corner, Stanley debuted an all-new tumbler in honor of the Year of the Wood Snake that's already selling out—even if fans have mixed feelings about it.
According to the Stanley website, the red-and-gold Lunar New Year Quencher H2.0 Flowstate Tumbler's design was "inspired by Eastern calligraphy."

The "gold brushstrokes embody the graceful ebb-and-flow of the Wood Snake, known for their refined taste and strong intuition," the description explained, promising that the cup would encourage users to "cultivate beauty and find moments of tranquility in all your moves, including the spaces in-between," as they "prep for the new year."

Some Stanley enthusiasts on Reddit were skeptical about the holiday-themed offering.
"Weird design, would of bought it if the snake was wrapped around the cup," one person complained, with a second chiming in to ask, "It doesn’t even go all the way around the cup? That’s so weird to just have half a design."
"This. I kept flipping through product pics trying to see what the other side was and I realized I guess there is no other side. How weird," somebody agreed.
"I’m year of the Snake and I was really hoping they’d have done something cooler…" lamented another Reddit user, as someone else said it "looks half finished; the snake looks like splotches of gold paint. Stanley just saved me money."
Critics aside, other Reddit users reported that the cup was already selling out.
"All the people saying 'pass' but the 30 ounce still sold out in a few hours," joked a fan.
"Did this cup sell out already?" a second wanted to know. "I go to the page for it on the Stanley website and it says that it’s unavailable. I’m on the fence about getting this one so if I did actually miss this one then it’s not a big deal for me."
