BRITTANY Mahomes is on track to give birth in the coming week.
The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be induced on Monday if she doesn’t give birth by then.
NFL insider Tracy Wolfson revealed the news while explaining the Chiefs’ travel troubles.
Mahomes and his teammates nearly didn’t make it to Denver to play the Broncos after inclement weather grounded their flight.
Most of the starting players didn’t take any reps in the game and the Chiefs lost 38-0.
Mahomes returned to Kansas City on Monday night and quickly returned to his wife who is soon to give birth to their third child.
Wolfson shared that Mahomes was very tense on his way home to his wife.
“No one happier to get back to KC than Patrick Mahomes,” she wrote on X.
“He told me his wife Brittany is due to give birth to their 3rd child on Sunday.
“If she doesn’t give birth by then she will be induced Monday. There was def extra motivation for Patrick to get that bye week!”
With the Chiefs locking down the No. 1 seed in the AFC, he and his teammates will get an extra week off.
This is huge for Mahomes as he won’t have to play a game on the day of or the day before his wife gives birth.
Instead, Mahomes will be settled in at home with Brittany and his two kids.
“I told her I was gonna get her the number one seed so we can go have that baby,” Mahomes said after locking up the No. 1 seed on Christmas day.
“So we got that number one seed.”
He also added that the season was stressing his wife out too much and that he was ready to bring his third child into the world.
“Any day now,” Mahomes said.
