Greeley West High School will host its seventh Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, Jan. 31 in the high school auditorium.
The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. Doors to the school open at 5:30 p.m. for photographs and tours of the building.
Instead of ticket sales, donations will be accepted and a silent auction will be held from 5:30-7:00p.m. A reception and cocktail hour will be held following the ceremony at a location to be determined.
There are three categories of inductees this year: distinguished alumni, Peggy Freemole, Rachel Hammer, the Lordemann family and Edith Reynolds; the athletic hall of fame, the 1975 state championship baseball team; and the hall of champions inductees, state championship wrestlers Ryan Martinez (1999-2000), Aaron Phillips (2004), Joseph Martinez (2009-11), Emilio Martinez (2011-13) and Austin Waterman (2012-13) and state championship golfer David Oraee (2010).
The Greeley West High School Hall of Fame began hosting induction ceremonies in 2009, according to a news release from the school.
Greeley West last inducted a class in 2023 with the addition of Jane Burke, Heather (Wyatt) Blackwell, Cynthia Miller-Hughes, Tom Leyba, Joe Smeltzer and Graciela Tiscareno-Sato. Other classes were inducted in 2010-14.
