The Texas Longhorns are set to face off against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinals in what should be one of the best games of the season.

Friday night’s Cotton Bowl will decide which of the teams heads to the National Championship game against Penn State or Notre Dame.

However, there is a chance that fans traveling to the game are severely impacted by winter weather.

While AT&T is an indoor stadium and the gameplay won’t be affected by weather, getting into the stadium might be the biggest issue.

North Texas is expected to see below-freezing temperatures and possible snow ahead of kickoff.

With this threat looming, the Cotton Bowl released a statement regarding the upcoming game.

“We are routinely monitoring weather reports and we are in close contact with AT&T Stadium and local officials,” the statement said.

“We always have plans for inclement weather. Should conditions warrant it, we will communicate to everyone attending and connected with this year’s Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.”

College football reporter Ari Wasserman also put out a warning to fans, predicting an “absolute s*** show.”

“Just a PSA to anyone coming to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl on Friday: the weather in this city is going to be an absolute s*** show,” he wrote on X.

“They are already talking about the chance of a ton of snow on Thursday/Friday and this city doesn’t do well with snow.

    “Something to look out for.”

Vice president of communications for the Cotton Bowl, Scottie Rodgers, explained that the game likely won’t need to be moved and that fans will be nice and toasty once they’re inside the stadium.

“We’re routinely looking at the weather like everyone is now, and talking with our friends at the stadium and local authorities and just monitoring the situation,” he said.

“You know we always have a contingency plan and when you put on events like this, you have to have a contingency plan.

“We hope Mother Nature allows us to get everybody to the stadium safely, and then they can enjoy what’s going to be a great college football game.

“Getting to the game might be a challenge, but once you’re at the game it’s 72 and sunny [inside].”

Regardless of what the weather conditions are, AT&T Stadium will likely be packed with college football fans.

Texas and Ohio State have some of the most dedicated fanbases in all of sports and they won’t let a little snow change their plans.

Expect a passionate crowd even if a snowfall makes it harder for fans to get to the stadium.
