THE Golden Globe Awards 2025 delivered a series of shock wins – as Emilia Pérez took home four awards and Wicked was snubbed.
Demi Moore became a first-time Golden Globes winner aged 62 for Best Actress – musical or comedy – in The Substance, beating the likes of Amy Adams (Nightbitch), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) and Zendaya (Challengers).
However the major surprise of the night was Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet and Pamela Anderson losing to Fernanda Torres.
The 59-year-old Brazilian won Best Actress – Drama for I’m Still Here.
After pulling off an upset, she told the star-studded crowd: “I didn’t prepare anything because I was glad already [to be nominated].”
Meanwhile The Brutalist won three gongs – but Conclave and Anora went home empty handed.
It was also a disappointing night for Ariana Grande whose hit film Wicked lost out on the big awards.
It was handed the gong for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement after making $450.7million in seven weeks – but fans say the musical was “robbed”.
Pop star Ariana was pipped to the post for best supporting actress in Emilia Pérez by Zoe Saldaña.
