Terry Bradshaw crashes Fox NFL Kickoff set to complain about tiny $2,500 Pittsburgh Steelers bonus 40 years ago

TERRY BRADSHAW crashed the Fox NFL Kickoff set while watching from behind the camera.

The four-time Super Bowl winner, 76, remains one of the winningest quarterbacks in NFL history – but once missed out on a $2,500 bonus over playing time.

Terry Bradshaw crashed the set of Fox NFL Kickoff Bradshaw, 76, told a story of how he was ‘tiffed’ at missing out on a $2,500 bonus

The Fox NFL crew were discussing the Saquon Barkley situation – with the Philadelphia Eagles star SITTING OUT against the New York Giants despite needing just 101 yards to break the NFL rushing record.

Barkley, 27, became only the ninth player in league history to hit the 2k mark and has Erik Dickerson’s record of 2,105 rushing yards – which was set in 1984 – in his sites.

But the running back, who has 2,005 rushing yards, will NOT get a chance at the record with head coach Nick Sirianni opting to rest most of his starters and key players.

The Eagles are locked in as the No 2 seed in the NFC and think the extra rest will benefit the team ahead of a gruelling playoff push.

While the Barkley situation was being discussed, Bradshaw made his way out from the back to have his say.

The former Pittsburgh Steeler could be heard shouting: “They didn’t give him the option!”

Without missing a beat, host Charissa Thompson joked: “Terry, you’ve done a really good job of not saying anything this whole segment, get over here.”

Bradshaw then added: “They didn’t give him the option.

“I guess if he plays, the offensive line has to play, right, but everybody wants the week off.

“I would want the award to be honest.

“I had the chance to throw for 2,300 yards one year and they sat me.”

Others laughed at this comment, especially compared to today’s game where top QBs regularly throw over 4,000 yards – and Michael Vick quipped: “2,300?”

Bradshaw replied: “Yes, 2,300 Mike – that was back when football was a little tougher than it is today.

“I was tiffed. You wanna know why, because I had a $2,500 bonus!

    “I was devastated!”

    The original Tom Brady

Tom Brady was left lost for words after Terry Bradshaw admitted he used his identity.

Host Curt Menefee drew Brady’s attention to a 1983 newspaper report that a man called Thomas Brady underwent surgery.

That was actually Bradshaw while he was still in his playing days with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bradshaw won four Super Bowls in his 13-year career under center in Pittsburgh.

The former Steelers quarterback explained, “When I checked in they said ‘you’re not going to get checked in under your name because you’ll get hassled, what do you want to go under?’

“I said, ‘Put me under Thomas Brady.’

    “That’s how it happened.”

After some jokes were made about the cash amount, especially compared to today’s game, analyst Peter Schrager then asked: “Did you guys go all the way and win the Super Bowl that year?”

    “We did,” responded Bradshaw.

Schrager added: “That’s the key – if they don’t win the Super Bowl, a lot of eyes are going to be raised.

“If they do it will be seen as a genius move.”

Barkley’s current mood is not know, but earlier this week, he said he was fully on board with whatever the coach decided.

“Whatever his decision is, I’m all for it… I came here to do something special.

“Breaking a record is special, but I want a banner up there.

    “I think we all do.”
