(KRON) -- A standoff between a woman and the Daly City Police Department (DCPD) came to an end late Sunday after more than 24 hours. Around 6:44 p.m. on Dec. 28, police responded to a report of a physical domestic disturbance at a residence on the 300 block of 88th Street.
When DCPD arrived at the front door, the woman, 45, brandished a large kitchen knife and charged at the officers with the weapon raised above her head, according to police. Without using force, police backed away and contained the suspect inside her residence.

Authorities said they negotiated for nearly 28 hours with the woman, who was alone inside, before she was taken into custody at 10:38 p.m.
The woman faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said, and was transported to the San Mateo County Main Jail.
