One person died after a multi-vehicle crash on Christmas Eve.
The Monterey Police Department responded to a traffic collision Tuesday morning, involving three vehicles on Highway 68 between Canyon Del Rey Boulevard and Ragsdale Drive.

As traffic was slowing ahead, the driver was unable to stop his vehicle and struck a white Lexus SUV. The Dodge continued onto the eastbound lanes of Highway 68 and struck a blue Honda Accord head-on.A passenger in the blue Honda, a 22-year-old woman from Berkeley, sustained major injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver and another passenger in the blue Honda sustained moderate to major injuries and were transported and treated at Natividad Medical Center.
The driver of the white Dodge Nitro was also transported and treated at Natividad Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing, according to the Monterey Police Department.
