Mindy Kaling gave a special shout-out to a beloved holiday movie character while sharing a few rare photos of her three kids on social media this week.
On Christmas Day, The Mindy Project star posted a photo roundup on Instagram to mark the special occasion. As she noted in her caption for the post, her family loves Kevin McCallister, the main character played by Macaulay Culkin in 1990’s Home Alone and the film’s 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Kaling’s 11-part Instagram carousel was full of snapshots showing how her young kids spent the holiday, including one photo of Culkin mid-performance as Home Alone played on a TV.
A couple of the photos showed The Office alum’s youngest daughter, Anne, as she sat on a beach and dug her fingers into the sand while the sun set behind her. Anne, who turns 1 in February, was also photographed playing with a toy while wearing a How the Grinch Stole Christmas-themed bodysuit.
Kaling’s 4-year-old son, Spencer, made an appearance in the post as he sat with a toy on a couch while wearing red and green plaid pajamas. Meanwhile, Kaling’s oldest daughter, 7-year-old Katherine, popped up twice in the post, first while standing on the beach at sunset and later while sitting at a table inside.

Several of Kaling’s fans wrote in to wish the actress a happy holiday season and to praise her “Too cute” photos.
“Cutest family! Merry Christmas! ??❤️,” one fan wrote.
“Such a beautiful family love the outfit @mindykaling,” another fan wrote, referencing the gray sweater and black skirt Kaling wore in a mirror selfie she included with the post.
Angela Kinsey, who starred in The Office with Kaling, also left a sweet comment for the mom of three. “Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family Mindy! ❤️?,” Kinsey wrote.
