As reported by several fan accounts online as well as Uproxx, Parton is now among the hundreds of millions of people following the 35-year-old's Instagram account, sparking many to wonder if the two artists have recently been in contact over a potential project together.
Swifties instantly began thinking about the pop star's debut self-titled country album, which she still has yet to re-release as "Taylor's Version." (Swift has already released the re-recorded versions of Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989, with only Taylor Swift and Reputation left to go.)
Since most of Swift's previous re-records featured a number of new collaborations, fans have already been speculating about the country artists who may be featured on Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version). Swifties have already wondered about possible collabs with country music's Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, who even has a track named after him on Swift's first album.
And now Parton, 78, has joined the list.

— Swift HQ (@SwiftUpdatesHQ) December 25, 2024"Two iconic queens in one studio? If this leads to a collab, the world simply isn’t ready for that level of legendary!" one tweet read, while another user wrote, "My Tennessee heart could not handle a collaboration but I’d really love to try."
"It’s been a long time coming omg" someone else added. Taylor Swift, the "Karma" singer's first record, released as a full-on country album in 2006, and contained some of her first-ever hits like "Our Song" and "Picture to Burn." It is now affectionately referred to as "Debut" among her fans.
"imagine DOLLY on DEBUT," one hopeful fan wrote on X, while another said, "I would give my whole existence up to hear them together especially on debut tv omg."
So far, neither Swift nor Parton has yet to say anything official about a possible collaboration, but fans can still dream!
