Manchester City’s dreadful run of form stretched to one win in 13 games as Erling Haaland’s penalty miss ensured Everton held on for a 1-1 draw at the Etihad.
City had taken the lead after just 14 minutes, Jeremy Doku threading a ball through to Bernardo Silva for it to bobble over Jarrad Branthwaite into the far corner.
Everton hit back when a poor touch from Manuel Akanji allowed Iliman Ndiaye to drive a superb finish past Stefan Ortega, with Ederson one of a number of notable absentees for the champions.
