Weld County residents can recycle real Christmas trees through the end of the year at the Greeley Organic Waste Center, 1150 25th Ave., Greeley.
Residents must remove decorations and lights from trees before dropping them off, according to a city of Greeley news release.
Once dropped off, staff at the waste center will grind up the trees and turn them into compost, reducing landfill waste and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
The organic waste center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays throughout the winter, weather permitting. The center is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
For more information about Christmas tree recycling, call 970-673-3718. For information on other recycling options in Greeley, go to GreeleyGov.com/recycling.
