CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -American Airlines is experiencing a nationwide system outage on Christmas eve that is having a major impact on holiday travel, eerily similar to what Delta went through earlier this year.
Queen City News Chief Transportation Correspondent Maycay Beeler was at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Tuesday morning where two flight attendants said there appeared to be an American IT software, which could impact check-ins and dispatching aircraft.

American later said in a social media while replying to a customer around 7 a.m. that they were experiencing technical issues.
There are currently minimal delays and cancellations at Charlotte Airport. American sent QCN the following statement.
A technical issue is affecting American flights this morning. Our teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.
