The Kansas City Chiefs finished the regular season undefeated at home, holding off the AFC South champion Houston Texans 27-19. Depending on the Buffalo Bills’ results in Week 16, the victory could be enough to clinch the top overall seed in the AFC.
Patrick Mahomes proved immediately that his high ankle sprain wouldn’t be an issue in the game. He carried the ball efficiently, including a rushing touchdown to start the game. Marquise’ Hollywood’ Brown’s official Chiefs debut was efficient, as he didn’t miss a beat with Mahomes and fit well alongside DeAndre Hopkins and rookie Xavier Worthy, who reached the endzone on Saturday.
Defensively, Jaden Hicks and Trent McDuffie secured interceptions in consecutive games to set the tone against C.J. Stroud. Joshua Williams and Mike Pennel contributed sacks as the unit effectively slowed down a talented Texans offense.
