Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr just gave fans the best holiday gift they could ask for: a surprise reunion!
While fans gathered at London's O2 Stadium were anticipating a memorable performance from McCartney as he closed out his Got Back tour on Thursday night, we can almost guarantee that no one saw this musical guest appearance coming.

During the Dec. 19 concert, the 84-year-old drummer walked out onto the stage to a roaring applause from onlookers. The duo then gave fans a "dream come true" experience, performing a round of classic Beatles hits like "Helter Skelter" and "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," per BBC.
As McCartney, 82, and Starr rocked the stage, concertgoers documented bits and pieces for fans unable to make it to the show, sharing photos and videos on social media. One, in particular, caught the attention of a Beatlemaniac who thought it looked oddly familiar, later realizing the two Grammy winners unintentionally recreated a photo first snapped during their early career.
"Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in 1964 & 2024," the fan shared in a statement alongside two side-by-side photos that showed the duo in their respective places on stage.

"Amazing!" another X (formerly Twitter) user wrote in response. "60 years and both men are still strong musicians!"
"Thats the same picture," a second joked.
"Best thing I will see today," a different fan declared.
"this is every Beatlemaniac's dream coming true again," someone else added before one more gushed that it was "something I'll never forget."

Still, 2024 has been full of surprises orchestrated by McCartney. Remember when he shocked fans with his cameo at an event with Black-ish star Deon Cole? Or when he randomly name-dropped pop superstar Taylor Swift? And who could forget about McCartney and his wife's rare joint appearance at the premiere of Martin Scorsese's Beatles '64 documentary?!
