Carson Beck is not expected to be healthy enough to play for Georgia in its quarterfinal game later this month, according to a report.
That’s per On3’s Pete Nakos, who shared that news on Thursday evening. Beck suffered an elbow injury in Georgia’s overtime win over Texas in the SEC Championship Game a couple of weeks ago.
Per the report from On3, Beck’s injury is to his UCL. The report also says Beck has not been with the team since the Bulldogs returned to practice last week.

He only re-entered the game for 1 play in an emergency situation after Gunner Stockton had to exit the game for 1 play because he lost his helmet in overtime. Beck then handed the ball off to Trevor Etienne for the game-winning score.
Georgia has released very little information regarding Beck’s injury since it occurred. Back on Dec. 9, Georgia confirmed that Beck was dealing with an elbow injury and said he and his family were evaluating “treatment options.”
Georgia does not yet know its opponent for the quarterfinal round. The Bulldogs will play the winner of the Notre Dame vs. Indiana game in New Orleans on Jan. 1.
If Beck is indeed out for the quarterfinals, Stockton would be expected to get the starting nod. In the second half against Texas earlier this month, Stockton completed 12-of-16 passes for 71 yards and 1 interception.
Georgia is currently a 1.5-point underdog in a hypothetical matchup with Notre Dame in the next round, according to FanDuel. The same book has the Bulldogs listed as a 6.5-point favorite over Indiana.
