The Chicago Bulls will have their star scorer against the Boston Celtics.
Despite a four-day break, Zach LaVine was ruled out for the team’s matchup with the Toronto Raptors on Monday night due to back spasms. While back injuries are known to be rather pesky, it appears the last two days have done LaVine well. The scorer no longer shows up on the Bulls’ injury report as of Thursday morning, meaning he should be feeling 100 percent. He sure looked the part in the clips of some post-practice 1v1 on Wednesday!
The Bulls also received some good news on Josh Giddey. The 22-year-old tweaked his ankle while closing out on a shooter against the Raptors and appeared to be in some serious pain. The training staff had to help Giddey back to the locker room, and the Bulls swiftly ruled him out of the game with an ankle injury. The injury looked like a multi-game absence, but I guess that’s why they say look can be deceiving!

For what it’s worth, the Chicago Tribune’s Julia Poe reported that Giddey sat out of practice on Wednesday, but Billy Donovan did confirm that the severity of the injury isn’t as bad as the team initially thought. If I had to guess, the Bulls still opt to give Giddey the night off on Thursday, but could he be back as soon as Saturday for Round 2 vs. Boston?
Lastly, the status of Dalen Terry remains unclear. The third-year wing is still dealing with a knee contusion and is listed as questionable. He has now missed the last two games. Even if he is given the green light, however, playing time could become hard to come by. Donovan has shown an affinity for Julian Phillips in recent weeks, while Matas Buzelis continues to show some encouraging flashes. Carving out time in this rotation is becoming tough!
