Bleacher Nation Fantasy Plays to Dominate Thursday Night Football: 2 Plays for the Broncos vs Chargers

In Week 16 of the 2024 NFL Season, the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers will clash on Thursday Night Football. These Bleacher Nation Fantasy Plays will help you dominate Thursday Night Football! The Broncos (9-5) took care of business vs the Colts in Week 16, while the Chargers (8-6) were blown out by the Buccaneers. With that in mind, we have a couple of good spots to target in our Bleacher Nation Fantasy Plays.

Every Thursday Night Football, I’ll break down my favorite Bleacher Nation Fantasy Plays for that night’s game.

    What’s Bleacher Nation Fantasy?

Bleacher Nation Fantasy is the newest real-money fantasy game on the market, and also the easiest for players to win real money! Last Thursday, players won at over an 80% clip. And now, they have both NFL and NBA contests to play. Their main game mode, Rivals, is all matchup-based, which is what we’ll focus on here. And the best part? It’s extremely simple. Without parlaying anything at all, you can choose who will have more receiving yards between Courtland Sutton or Ladd McConkey (plus 60-80 other matchups just like that!)

So without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite picks at Bleacher Nation Fantasy in what should be a low-scoring matchup, as reflected by the 41-point game total.

Bo Nix +12 Rushing Yards vs Gus Edwards

I like getting Bo Nix +12 rushing yards vs Gus Edwards because the Chargers’ veteran running back has been one of the most inefficient runners in football, averaging only 3.4 yards per carry. Edwards has 36 rushing yards or fewer in five consecutive games.

Last week, Edwards was out-snapped by Kimani Vidal. While that was partly because the Chargers were playing from behind, it’s still noteworthy when you consider Edwards’ inefficiency. Perhaps we’ll start to see Vidal a little more involved this week.

This is also a tough matchup for Edwards, as the Broncos rank 4th in Rush EPA. Simply put, this doesn’t look like a spot where Edwards can get back on track.

On the other side, Nix has put up 23.4 rushing yards per game this season, maxing out at 75 yards, so the ceiling is there to easily cover +12 against Edwards. When Nix faced the Chargers earlier this season, he put up 61 yards on the ground.

When you consider Edwards’ inefficiency and risk of a decreased workload along with Nix’s success vs Los Angeles with rushing yards, you have to love getting the Broncos’ quarterback at +12 in this spot.

Courtland Sutton -29 Receiving Yards vs Stone Smartt

Courtland Sutton has been one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL, putting up 70+ yards in six of his last seven games.

When the veteran wideout faced the Chargers earlier this season, he put up 53 receiving yards.

We just saw Los Angeles get burned by Mike Evans (159 yards) and Jalen McMillan (75 yards), so perhaps Sutton can do the same.

On the other side, Stone Smartt put up 50 yards while filling in for Will Dissly last week, making it his second straight game with 50+ yards.

With that said, this is still an unproven tight end, making me want to ride with the more consistent wideout who is the top target on his team.

It’s also worth noting that the Broncos are allowing only 5.36 yards per target to tight ends, which ranks 1st in the NFL.

Let’s ride with Sutton -29 over Smartt in this spot.
