Denzel Washington has been a major movie star for decades, but he's managed to keep his family life mostly under wraps—so some fans were surprised to see the actor's 38-year-old daughter on the red carpet recently.
On Dec. 9, Katia Washington attended the Critics Choice Association's 7th Annual Celebration Of Black Cinema And Television in Los Angeles alongside her wife, Colleen Wilson.

Katia, who works as a movie producer, wore a brown suit with a white button-down shirt and tie for the event, while Wilson—a former ballet dancer—dressed in a black off-the-shoulder gown with a full skirt.

A video on TikTok of the couple had fans all asking the same question.
“Ya'll are trippen over that being his daughter, I'm trying to figure out HOW TALL IS HER WIFE???! Gaaaaaadamn!” wrote one commenter.
“'Is she really short or is her wife just really tall?” somebody else wanted to know.
“How tall is she!!!!” a third person asked.
"Either Katia is short or Colleen is tall tall!" declared another TikTok user.
According to The U.S. Sun, Colleen stands 6 feet 4 inches tall, while Katia is 5 feet 2 inches in height.
In addition to Katia, Denzel and his wife, Pauletta, share three children: John David, 40, and twins Malcolm and Olivia, 33. All four of the siblings are involved in the entertainment industry.
After graduating from Yale University in 2010, Katia worked with her father on Fences (2016) and her older brother on Assassination Nation (2018). She also collaborated with her family on the screen adaptation of The Piano Lesson—produced by Denzel, starring John David and directed by Malcolm.
