PALO ALTO – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Monday night in Palo Alto, police said.

Paramedics took the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, to an area hospital, where he died a short time later.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity after it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
An initial investigation indicated the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Oregon Expressway when he left the roadway and hit a curb, police said. No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the crash.
The roadway was closed for roughly four hours so officers could investigate the crash.
