UK Christmas No 1 odds 2024 – and when the winner is announced

The Official Charts is making a list and checking it twice before we can find out who will take the coveted Christmas chart top spot.

A host of artists old and new are vying for the peak position in the singles chart this festive season.

It’s a place which has been filled by the likes of Ladbaby, Spice Girls, The Beatles and Bob the Builder over the past 72 years of Christmas number ones.

But as only one act can take the top Christmas slot this week, we look at who is hoping to be top of the tree.

Who’s in the running for the 2024 Christmas No 1?

Wham! have taken an early lead in the fight for the festive number one spot, taking first place in the UK Official Singles Chart from Friday 13 December.

“Last Christmas” missed out on the Christmas top spot in 1984, held at Number two by Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”.

It eventually got the Christmas number one slot in 2023 after 39 years.
