The people of Syria are preparing to rally in celebration of the end of the Assad regime following an almost week-long rebel offensive.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has ordered his country's military to "prepare to remain" throughout the winter in an area of Syria it recently occupied as a 'buffer zone'.
In Gaza, following an Israeli attack that killed 33 Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp, the military launched more airstrikes into the camp on Friday morning, killing one civilian and injuring two.
Two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza.
