CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - Winter conditions including snowfall, freezing temperatures, and icy roads have forced delays Monday morning at multiple school districts in the North Carolina mountain region. Avery, Ashe, and Watauga counties are all operating on a two-hour delay due to the conditions. All three districts made the announcements Sunday night and said they will reassess the conditions on Monday morning. The region saw its first snowfall last week that included several inches of snow in the highest elevations.
