Detective Allan Reddins, 40, was killed in the line of duty “while responding to a call involving an armed offender,” officials said Friday. According to a spokesperson for the village, firefighters responded to a call of shots fired just after 9:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Lake Street. There, they found Reddins with a gunshot wound to the left side. The officer was transported to Loyola University Medical C
