Ben Foster has filed for divorce from Laura Prepon after five years of marriage

The X Men: The Last Stand actor noted the former couple's date of separation as Sept. 9, 2023, and asked the court to enforce their 2018 prenuptial agreement and make an "equitable division" of their marital assets and debt.

Meanwhile, Foster has not been photographed wearing his wedding band since August.

Prepon and Foster met as teenagers and were both friends with Prepon’s “That ’70s Show” costar Danny Masterson for several years.

The pair began a romantic relationship in July 2016 and got engaged in October of that year. They welcomed a daughter, Ella, the following August.

The actress explained that she and Foster made the decision to shield their kids from the spotlight because they “aren't old enough to choose for themselves yet.”

“Being that we're in the public eye, we always have conversations around anything,” she went on, “especially that has to do with our kids. We're very protective of that.”

During their marriage, the former couple also chose their movie and TV roles carefully to ensure their home life was balanced.

Foster filed for divorce on November 12, 2024, indicating that their separation occurred on September 9, 2023 .
