Homicide investigation underway after deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - A homicide investigation is underway in southwest Charlotte early Tuesday morning. Officers were on scene around 6 a.m. near 8500 South Tryon Street in southwest Charlotte. One victim was found suffering from injuries and was transported to an area medical center where they were pronounced dead. Medic said the initial call was for a gunshot wound. CMPD said they do not believe the location of the victim to be the main location of the incident at this time. Queen City has a crew on scene and will have more details once they come into the newsroom. This is a Developing Story. Check back for updates
