AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin police are investigating the city's 56th homicide of the year after a person died outside a northeast Austin bar overnight. Austin Police Department officers responded to a "shoot/stab/hotshot" call around 1:43 a.m. Friday to the parking lot of a restaurant/bar in the 900 block of East Braker Lane. When police arrived, they found two men who were hurt and tried to save their lives until medics and the fire department arrived and took over treatment. One of the men was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:05 a.m. The other was taken to a local hospital.
